Price-Based Fee Tiers

Charge different amounts based on price. Each band is matched on an item's unit price, or on the cart total if you tick Apply fee to entire cart (once).

Example

• Cart $0–$49.99: $1.99 fee
• Cart $50–$99.99: $2.99 fee
• Cart $100+: $4.99 fee

Both ends of a range are inclusive, so a band must end just below where the next one starts. Ranges like $0–$50 and $50–$100 overlap at exactly $50.

Setup

1. Go to Settings → Rules
2. Click Create Rule
3. Change mode from "Single" to "Price ranges" (the rules list shows these rules as "Multiple")
4. Add price ranges:

How It Works

The price decides which tier applies. The examples below use Apply fee to entire cart (once), so the cart total is what gets matched:

• Cart $35 → $0–$49.99 tier → $1.99
• Cart $75 → $50–$99.99 tier → $2.99
• Cart $150 → $100–$199.99 tier → $4.99
• Cart $500 → $200+ tier → $6.99

Weight ranges

To charge by weight instead, set the mode to Weight ranges. Each band has a Min Weight and Max Weight (leave Max empty or 0 for "and above") and a Unit selector. Whatever unit you pick is saved as grams. A Check your weight tiers warning banner shows if the bands leave a gap or none is left open-ended. Overlapping bands won't save.

If some products have no weight in Shopify, a Some products have no weight banner appears on the Rules page. Shopify reports those as 0 g, so they land in your lowest weight band, or are charged nothing. Set a weight on each variant to fix that.

Weight-based fees don't appear on the checkout widget (Settings → Checkout), because Shopify's checkout can't tell apps the cart's weight. The cart widget is not affected.

Tips

1. No gaps: ranges should connect (0–49.99, 50–99.99)
2. Test each tier: verify with test orders
3. Use .99 endings: clearer boundaries
