Quick Start Guide
Welcome to TackOn! Get up and running in under 5 minutes.
What You'll Do
- Create your first fee rule
- Configure the widget
- Enable it on your store
- Test at checkout
Step 1: Create a Fee Rule
From the TackOn dashboard:
- Go to Settings → Rules and click + Create Rule
- Name it (e.g., "Gift Wrapping")
- Choose a Type:
- Fixed Amount: flat amount ($5.00)
- Percentage: cart percentage (2.5%)
- Combined (% + Fixed): both ($0.30 + 2.9%)
- Set the Value
- Tick Set as default rule so it applies cart-wide
- Click Create Rule
Watch the fee math. Apply fee to entire cart (once) decides whether the fee is charged per item × quantity or once on the cart total. Left unticked, 3 items with a $5 fixed fee = $15 in fees. Ticked, it's $5.
Step 2: Configure the Widget
Go to Settings → Cart Widget:
- Set a title ("Add Gift Wrapping")
- Add a description
- Choose default state (checked/unchecked)
- Pick a template
- Save

Step 3: Enable on Your Theme
TackOn is a theme app embed, so there's no block to place on the cart page.
- Go to Online Store → Themes
- Click Edit theme on your live theme
- Open the App embeds panel in the left icon rail
- Toggle TackOn Cart Widget on
- Click Save
Step 4: Test
- Add a product to cart
- Check the widget appears
- Toggle the fee on/off
- Complete checkout
